The short version
Read what you want. Quote me with attribution. Don't republish whole posts. If you buy a tool through one of my links, I might get a kickback. I'm not responsible if you blow up production by following my advice.
Whose content is whose
Everything I write on this site — posts, page copy, the design system, the photographs (when there are any) — is mine, © 2026 Louis Castañeda. All rights reserved.
That said:
- Short quotations with attribution and a link back are welcome and encouraged. Quote a paragraph or two, share screenshots, post on your blog or social.
- Republishing whole posts is not. If you want to translate or syndicate a full post, email me — I usually say yes.
- Code snippets embedded in posts are free for you to use in your own projects, no attribution required, unless I explicitly say otherwise in the post.
Affiliate links
Some links on the Stack page and inside posts are affiliate links. If you buy something through one, I may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. I only list things I actually use and pay for. If a placement is ever sponsored beyond a normal affiliate link, it will say so directly in the entry. This disclosure is intended to comply with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's endorsement guidelines.
The newsletter and comments
The Dispatch is sent through Beehiiv; your relationship as a subscriber is also governed by Beehiiv's terms. Comments on posts are powered by Giscus and stored as GitHub Discussions; GitHub's terms apply to anything you post. See the privacy policy for what data goes where.
No warranties
The content here is provided "as is." I write about software, training, and AI from my own experience — not as professional, financial, medical, legal, or investment advice. If you follow something I wrote and it breaks your build, your back, or anything else, that's on you. Use your judgment.
Limits on liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, I am not liable for any damages arising out of your use of this site, including (but not limited to) lost data, lost revenue, lost time, or lost sleep. My total liability, if any, is capped at what you paid me to read the site: zero dollars.
Links to other places
Posts link out to other sites and tools. I don't control them and am not responsible for what they do with their visitors or your data.
Changes
If these terms materially change, the date at the top of this page will change too. The full edit history lives in the GitHub repo.
